Included course wine available for pick-up or delivery*
*For residents of Washington, DC and Northern Virginia (inside of the 495 Beltway) ONLY!
This 6-week course is designed around the appreciation of wine, how it’s made, and how to best enjoy it. Each week we will discuss a fundamental topic in wine and winemaking, enjoy two wines that reflect the week’s topic, and explore food and wine pairing concepts.
Each week will cover a new topic:
1) How Wine is Made
2) Viticulture & Climate
3) Overview of France
4) Overview of the USA & other New World winemaking countries
5) Overview of Italy
6) Sparkling Wine
The course cost includes 12 bottles of wine, tax, and local delivery of the wine (if in DC or VA inside the beltway).
All classes will be interactive, conducted via Zoom, and are limited to 20 registrants/households.
Classes are recorded and available to participants for the duration of the course. If you miss a class, no worries! You can watch at your lesiure. Because of this, no refunds will be issued for missed classes and you can sign up for DCanter Wine School after the session's start date.
This course is for you if:
You like wine, but you’re not sure about what kinds or styles.
You’re not really sure what you should be doing at a wine tasting.
You frequently choose wine solely because you like the label.
This course is not for you if:
You feel confident describing what you do and don’t like to a sommelier.
You don’t need Google to know which grapes are used to make red and white Burgundy.
You know what the difference is between Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (even if you couldn’t guess which is which in a blind tasting).
If you positively answered all of these questions, then we recommend Wine 201 or 301."
