New Zealand has raised the benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc and now, in many eyes, has wines that rival that of the French. This late-comer to winemaking however is excelling in the production of other grape varieties In particular Riesling, Pinot Noir and amazingly reds from Syrah and CDabernet/Merlot.
I recommend buying in advance: 1 bottle of Riesling from Marlborough or Martinborough, 1 bottle of Pinot Noir preferably from Central Otago (if not Marlborough is fine) 1 bottle of Syrah from Hawke's Bay.
We will send you a list of wines from popular suppliers or ask your local wine merchant. Nearer to the date we'll send a list of suggested nibbles to have on the night.
