The Vineyard and its Unique Terroir

Black Dog Hill Vineyard is nestled at the foot of the iconic Ditchling Beacon, an 830-foot peak that shelters the vines from extreme weather. The vineyard thrives in chalky soil rich with prehistoric sea fossils, a characteristic shared with the famous Champagne region of France. This unique terroir, combined with the mild maritime climate of the South Downs, creates the ideal conditions for cultivating the classic Champagne grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.

First planted in 2007, the vineyard reflects the dedication and vision of three generations of the family. The family is committed to sustainable practices, preserving the landscape, and creating exceptional wines that celebrate their heritage.

Classic Cuvée 2016
This multi-award-winning wine is a standout vintage. Made from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, the Classic Cuvée 2016 offers superb structure and length. Aged for four years on lees, it boasts maturity and depth, with a perfect balance of fruit characteristics. Blanc de Blancs 2015
