We’ve selected some of the best wines we’ve tasted recently.
You will taste 8 different wines - including orange wine. See if you fall in love with a new country, a new grape or a new style of wine.
We are globetrotting with our wine glasses to Georgia, Greece, Mexico, India, and England.
You will be tasting at least 8 wines and here’s a flavour: -
Starting with white wines from Greece, a brilliant grape, really getting some recognition now Assyrtiko. Try this wine, even if you don’t come to our event. It’s a great find. We have it in our cellar all the time. It could replace your favourite white wine. The one we are tasting now won an Award at the International Wine Challenge.
One of our favourite UK producers has a very special vineyard called Kits Coty. The wines from this vineyard are, in our opinion, outstanding and def a hidden gem at Chapel Down.
Then heading to Georgia for some delicious wine made using Qveri and this is when we’ll be tasting the orange wines. You love them or hate them, a bit like Marmite, but you should taste them.
Mexico is home to some brilliant Italian wine makers. And what did they take with them when they migrated across the pond? Italian Grapes of course. And one of the most famous Italian grapes (well we think so) is Nebbiolo. This grape is used to make the well-known red wine Barolo. We’re tasting the Mexican version.
Then let’s finish up in India with a big red on price and taste RRP £25. Can they really make wine in that climate? Well, we think so but let’s taste it and you decide. We’re going to try a red made with the grapes normally associated with Bordeaux – Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Will it be as good?
