Potazzine is the Italian word for the colourful and vivacious birds which live in the Tuscan countryside and in Montalcino its also a term of endearment for children. In fact, it was their maternal grandmother who affectionately gave the nickname to Viola and Sofia the daughters of Giuseppe and Gigliola Gorelli who own the estate, and thus in 1993, Le Potazzine was born (the same year as Viola).
