The classic wine region of Bordeaux is home to many black grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc producing some of the instantly recognised names such as Margaux, Pauillac, Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. In addition we find white grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon producing wonderful refreshing dry whites such as Entre-deux-Mers and Pessac-Leognan with the added touch of the most lauded sweet wine in the world, Sauternes. The tasting will unearth the difference between general Bordeaux wine and Grand Cru Classe with everything in between. This is a tasting not to be missed! Tasting Outlook Pessac-Leognan Bordeaux Blanc Bordeaux Rose/Clairet Bordeaux Superieur Rouge Left-Bank Bordeaux Rouge (Margaux/Pauillac/Saint-Julien) - Cru Level Right-Bank Bordeaux Rouge (Fronsac/St.Emilion/Pomerol) Sauternes/Barsac The Wines: For this tasting, students will receive tasting kits with 50ml samples of the wines tasted throughout the duration of this course. Tasting kit delivery can be made to anywhere within the UK. If you are interested in receiving the course tasting kits, however your delivery address is not within the UK, please get in touch BEFORE booking as depending where you are located, we may be able to still arrange delivery for an additional fee. If you do NOT want to receive a tasting kit, and just want to book onto the evening without receiving wine samples that is absolutely fine!
