As summer approaches, whether we’re still in lockdown or not, it’s a great time to revisit the lighter reds of the previously much-maligned region of Beaujolais. Anne McHale MW carried out research into the region’s prospects for recovering from its Beaujolais Nouveau ‘hangover’ for her Master of Wine dissertation in 2013. In tonight’s session she will present the key findings of her research, including how the image of Beaujolais has evolved since then, and will also refresh your memory on the region’s key styles and terroirs. Open your favourite bottle of Beaujolais to enjoy during the session, or pre-purchase the tasting pack of wines specially selected by Anne and taste the same wines alongside her.
Anne is London-based and enjoys a varied career as a consultant, educator and presenter. You can read more about her at www.annemchale.com.
