Ever get tired of the misconceptions? There are a bunch of Aussie wines you see in America –vapid, boring stuff– but that’s not their good stuff. That’s like judging California on Two-Buck Chuck. In this class, we delve into the great Aussie wine regions and a selection of our favorite regions and vineyards. New Zealand is a place of great wines, and not just Sauvignon Blanc! For the past fifty years ago, grapevines and winemakers have spread across the land – from Central Otago to Kumeu, Waipara to Wairarapa – to produce notable wines to global acclaim. We will take you on a wine journey from the North to the South Island. About Online Wine Classes Students are encouraged to pop open a bottle of wine during class. If the bottle reflects the class theme, all the better! Afterward, we will open the floor to you and all attending students. You will be free to chat, talk about the wines you’ve tasted. We are on the East Coast, so class times are listed in Eastern Standard Time. We will give everyone five minutes to get situated before we start the class. Classes are a fun one-hour event designed for self-edification and are not professional wine certifications."
