We welcome David Guimaraens, Head Winemaker and Technical Director of Taylor’s Port, to join us for an evening celebrating a wine that is intrinsically woven into British history and culture.
Taylor’s is the quintessential Port house. Its origins date back to 1692, making it one of the oldest, and the focus has always been on top quality wine from its historic Douro vineyards.
The house produces Ports for all occasions, from white through tawny and ruby to vintage; as well as the late-bottled-vintage style which it invented. The brand also owns Fonseca, Krohn and Croft, giving it a plethora of prices and house-styles.
This exciting event coincides with the launch of the 1970 Single Harvest Port which is being released just in time for Christmas. This is the seventh in the line of limited-edition releases from Taylor’s and we’re thrilled to be able to bring this once-in-a-lifetime wine to members.
You don’t need a glass of anything in particular to enjoy this event, but of course cosying up with a glass of Port and a plate of cheese is actively encouraged!
