Vineyard Description

Hanwell Wine Estate is a family run vineyard owned by William and Helenka Brown.

The vineyard story began in the 1970s when Helenka’s parents moved to a house in West Bridgford, South Nottinghamshire where they found a vine in a dilapidated greenhouse in the garden. This started a life changing path for the family. Eglantine Vineyard was subsequently planted in 1979 and has been producing delicious Nottinghamshire wines ever since.

William and Helenka have chosen to follow in the family footsteps and plant their own vineyard, this time in Hickling Pastures, called Hanwell Wine Estate. Hanwell is a mash up of their children’s names!

Hanwell produces Nottinghamshire Sparkling Wine along with offering vineyard tours and wine tasting. There’s the Tasting Lodge Cafe serving Tea, Bean-to-mug coffee, cake and wine.
