Description

Historical biases against women in the wine industry has persisted for centuries.
In Egyptian times, men were allotted wine in jars in tombs to continue a comfortable afterlife. Women were thought to become intoxicated and act promiscuously in the afterlife.
Greek men drank wine to reduce inhibitions, relax & encourage 'social interaction'. Women were allowed to dilute their wine with seawater.
The Greeks created drinking clubs, 'symposia'. The only women allowed were musicians, servers, or prostitutes. And so the story continues for many, many centuries.
