French wine is not as complicated as it appears, and in this informal and relaxed evening you will learn some of the keys to unlocking its secrets as we do a tour around some of the most important regions.
We will be visiting the Loire, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Alsace and the Rhone Valley tasting eight wonderful wines that show the contrasting styles available in this beast of a wine country. There will also be a food pairing example to illustrate why it matters which wine you serve with food.
By the end of the evening you will have learned:
regional differences and what they mean
classic French grapes
why French wine is so good with food
why and where are vintages important
All tastings include: a minimum of eight wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, use of professional tasting glasses and nibbles.
(Note, this evening is part of our 3-week Wines of Europe course - book the 3 evening course and save £15! It's flexible, so if you have to skip an evening let us know in advance and you can pick it up next time it runs).
All our courses can be purchased as a Gift either as a dated or undated voucher.
