Description

Have you ever wondered which wine to choose from the wine list? How to select a wine that will pair perfectly with the food on order? If so then this informal, interactive food and wine workshop is for you!
There is an evolving science around food and wine matching. This evening is a practical exploration of which wines go well with different types of food and why.
The menu has been carefully created in collaboration with our private chef, “Dotty in the Kitchen” to highlight the key elements of taste in a series of freshly prepared small plates.
Each plate is matched with a wine to illustrate what pairing works well and what doesn’t. Does the theory stand up? You decide!
A typical evening will start with a brief explanation of how to taste wine, how to identify the elements of wine and how those elements interact with food and our taste buds.
We will then taste a range of wines matched to our specially prepared menu, for example:
Smoked Salmon Blinis with Champagne
Green Leaf Caesar Salad with Vouvray
Fennel and Rosemary Roasted Porchetta Bites with Nebbiolo
Spicy Chicken Flatbreads with Shiraz
Sticky Toffee Bites with Fortified Muscat
After the workshop you will have a good basis of knowledge to help you make your own perfect pairings and enhance your dining pleasure!
