Having been born in the Yarra Valley, it took Mac Forbes many years before to return back with a clear commitment and a strong set of questions. The first vintage for Mac Forbes Wines (2005) catapulted him back into growing grapes and making wines in the Yarra Valley with more questions than answers. Remarkably, this journey became far broader than just a conversation about making wine. It struck him at the heart of what being Australian actually meant to him and gain the best respect that the incredibly different farming conditions can produce wines of clarity , place and culture.
