Resource Overview

Laura’s father, Nicolás Catena began working at the family winery in 1963, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather who arrived in Argentina at the end of the nineteenth century. The wine was made from grapes selected from old vines, and was aged in large old oak barrels for 3 to 4 years. The wine was made in a highly oxidative style akin to port or sherry in taste, the preferred style of an Argentine wine drinker at the time.
