Domaine Arlaud, based in Morey-St-Denis, was founded in 1942 through the marriage of Joseph Arlaud, a man from Ardèche and the Burgundian Renée Amiot, whose dowry includes some of the finest plots in the Côte de Nuits. Today ,the Domaine is run by their grandson Cyprien Arlaud, who has been key in the conversion to Biodynamic and in the vineyard is helped by horses Nougat and Oka. In the winery, he believes in minimal intervention with low extraction and restrained oak (0-30% depending on Cuvee and vintage). His wines, as a result, are pure and expressive.
