Resource Overview

Originally founded on a spot along Mill Creek known as the Frog Farm, Frog’s Leap now makes its home in the heart of Napa Valley’s Rutherford district. Winemaker and owner John Williams has been a trailblazer in the trend toward more sustainable agriculture and since 1988 has farmed his vineyards organically (many using biodynamic practices). What stands out though is the elegance and balance of the wines he makes. His approach is quite simple: native yeasts, very little new oak and gentle extraction which results in a style with remarkable balance and alcohol that never exceeds 14%.

Rory began working at his father’s winery in 2013 as a vineyardist and has been involved in the winery ever since. Alongside that, he also set up the Calder Wine Company proving that winemaking truly is a family affair.

Join this father and son duo for a Father’s Day special as they talk you through the history of the winery, their world-renowned wines and the family bond of winemaking.
