Resource Overview
The story began in 1842, when the Thenard family founded their estate in Givry. Thirty years later, Baron Paul Thenard acquired two large parcels in Le Montrachet, putting the domaine on the map as the Thenards became the 2nd largest landholder in Montrachet. With additional vineyard acquisitions in the 20th century of the grand cru vineyards Clos du Roi in Corton and Les Grands Echezeaux in Flagey, Thenard became one of the most important estates in Burgundy.
