Matthew Jukes started touring, tasting and writing about Piemonte, in depth, seven years ago. While he was familiar with the region and some of its estates, he had never committed so much time to trying to understand, deeply, the people, the land and the wines. He is more convinced than ever that this is the last great wine region in the world. By this, while many wine commentators believe they understand regions like Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhône, the Loire, Tuscany, the Douro, Napa and other great names, most of us are still a way off appreciating the true DNA of Piemonte.
