Wine writer + expert Elaine Chukan Brown speaks with Eric Asimov, focused on California in a global context, Chief Wine Critic of the New York Times and author. They focus on California wines in a global context.
Eric's books include "How to Love Wine: A Memoir and Manifesto", published by William Morrow, and "Wine With Food : Pairing Notes and Recipes From The New York Times", written with recipes by Florence Fabricant and published by Rizzoli. His weekly column appears in the Food Section of The Times.

Elaine and Eric will discuss producers inspired by traditions of Europe through the lens of classic grape varieties. Eric's deep understanding of global wine regions and experience tasting wines from around the world over the course of his career will offer a unique perspective about how and why these California producers have modeled grape growing and winemaking techniques after traditionally European methods and wine styles.
