In this episode focused on regional comparisons of California and the world, Wine writer + expert Elaine Chukan Brown speaks with with award-winning food, wine and travel entrepreneur André Ribeirinho.
Elaine and André conduct a regional comparison of California and Portugal – looking at producers, trends, wine regions, and grape varieties – to identify any parallels and influence of Portugal on California grape growing and winemaking, and vice versa.

Trained as a Computer Science Engineer, André is also a Portuguese Wine Expert, Certified Port Educator and a Knight of the Port Wine Brotherhood. Often called a Digital Strategist, he is also known as a creator, a businessman, a marketeer, a problem solver, a drone pilot, a wine ambassador, a photographer, a gourmet traveler and an influencer. André is co-founder and CEO at Adegga, creating and leading projects such as Adegga MarketPlace, Adegga WineMarket, Portugal Wine Week, WineSpots, SmartWineGlass, and Fine Portugal. He is Portugal’s correspondent to Hugh Johnson’s Pocket Wine Book, contributes to Decanter, and is a wine judge at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
